Kakapo Hits high record!

Image result for kakapo
Its is known that kakpos  hit the high record.

In 1991  a group of 51 kakapos were alive, last year there was 148. Experts believe that there are more kakapos since 1900s. The population has increased 70% from a few years ago.

Kakapos are not very good at breeding, Vets monitor them  because they are very fragile. As soon as they a strong enough they give them back to there parents. Because they are endangered animals.

I hope kakpos stay alive in the future.

Wood Work

Image result for wood small mirror
Today my class and I went tech. When I arrived at tech I still had to continue with my paper work on eight things I want to design. I had had to choose one design I wanted to create, it was a hard decision but decided to make the mirror.

When I finished my drawing I moved on to the next step which was to write why I wanted to make the mirror and who it was for. The mirror was for me to decorate my desk with and so I can see how to put my earrings on.

I am excited to see complete finish on my design.

Hard Materiel

Image result for wood small mirrorOn Wednesday we switched Tech groups, my group and I moved to wood work. First, Mr Grundy gave us a couple of rules, because some machines are very dangerous.

We had to write 8 things we would love to make then we had to choose one. Near the end of our session we played a game against Mr Grundy but, no one could beat him.

I had lots of fun a Tech.

A lot of people in New Zealand have a tragic disease called measles.

Measles is a contagious disease that spreads easily. This disease is treatable but is most likely to go to young kids. It is important to get vaccinated at a local clinic to prevent this disease. This illness appears for only a couple of days or weeks.

World wide 937 people have had measles, but most of the people are from Auckland. We have had 778 cases.

Skip Off!

Next Friday skipping will begin. I am excited to see who can skip the longest without stopping. I mostly want to see what other classes have planned for their skipping display.

Our class has started practicing for the skipping display. On the day parents will come and watch their children skip.

I hope it doesn't rain.

Tech!

Today at tech I started on my board. I have changed my decision to do noughts and crosses because there wasn't  much time to do ludo.

For my board  I Made it smooth with 100 sand paper and brushed of the dust with a sweeping brush. After I attached the wood together with super glue, it took 15 minutes for the glue to dry.

I hope my game turns out great.
