Santa is learning Maori so that children in New Zealand can write back in either English or Maori this is a part of culture.
It is a tradition that children send letters to Santa, it has been going on for 20 years. From now until Christmas kids will be writing letters. Last year there was 92,000 letters sent. Santa's helpers are aiming for 100, 000
I think this is good because some kids cant speak English.
